MiR and UR Senior Project at Lake Superior State University

Lake Superior State University's Engineering Senior Project Team CAMRI created an autonomous robot that can launch two foam hockey pucks at a time into the crowd at the Taffy Abel ice arena.

The robot did so during the first intermission of the LSSU Lakers 3-1 win on February 26, 2022. This may have been the first time an autonomous robot was used at a Division I hockey game!

The mobile robot platform is a MiR mobile industrial robot. A Universal collaborative robot arm is mounted on top of the MiR.

Team CAMRI designed and 3D printed the barrel through which the pucks are launched as well as the fixture, mounts, and puck pallet.
