MiR and UR Senior Project at Lake Superior State University

MiR and UR Senior Project at Lake Superior State University

Lake Superior State University's Engineering Senior Project Team CAMRI created an autonomous robot that can dispense foam hockey pucks two at a time to the crowd at the Taffy Abel ice arena. The robot did so during the first intermission of the LSSU Lakers 3-1 win on February 26, 2022. This might be the first time an autonomous robot was used at a Division I hockey game.

The mobile robot platform is an MiR autonomous mobile industrial robot. A Universal collaborative robot arm is mounted on top of the MiR and the students designed and 3D printed the barrel, among other components, through which the pucks are launched.
