Development Strategy
This controller features safety outputs and non-safety outputs for discrete optical channel monitoring. It was developed for work cells that require "safety category 4" door monitoring and door status monitoring at the programmable electronic system.
Features
- Four discrete non-safety outputs for each optical channel enable door or zone monitoring at the machine control center.
- Optical channels enable category 4 door monitoring and eliminate electrical wiring to traditional mechanical or magnetic switches.
- Configurable dip switches for a variety of applications: Auto/manual power-up; Trip/Latch output; 0,1 or 2 channel EDM.
- Control additional safety components: USSI 1 (Universal Safety Stop Interface) for latched devices and USSI 2 for trip devices.
Application
The PICO-GUARD system is typically used in accessguarding, perimeter-guarding or interlock barrier guarding applications for the following types of machines:
- Assembly stations
- Manufacturing cells
- Automated production equipment
- Robotic work cells
