  • 1. What is the ePro Software Suite?
    • The ePro Software Suite is all the software needed to support the PanelMate ePro ES and PanelMate ePro PS operator interface products. The suite includes the ePro Canvas Development software as well as the runtime software for the ePro ES and PS units. In addition, the Kepware OPC servers/drivers are included for the ePro ES and PS units.
       
  • 2. What is the Catalog Number of the ePro Software Suite?
    • The ePro Software Suite is Catalog number CANVAS.
       
  • 3. What software is used to create and edit pages for the PanelMate ePro ES and PS?
    • The ePro Canvas software is used to build and edit pages and to configure unit information for the PanelMate ePro ES and PS. This software package provides a new editing environment that delivers state-of-the-art features.
       
  • 4. Why is there new software for the PanelMate ePro ES and PS?
    • The new ePro Canvas software features easy re-use of project components and many new features such as media libraries, action libraries and application multi-language support, to name a few. These are features that our customers have asked for and are not feasible to support in our older products and PanelMate configuration software.
       
  • 5. Can I get a site license for the ePro Canvas development software?
    • No. The ePro Canvas is only available with a seat license. This means that a copy of ePro Canvas must be purchased for each computer that will be running the development software. The full featured version of ePro Canvas (ePro Canvas Professional) will be available in site license form per negotiation.
       
  • 6. How do I get ePro Canvas software upgrades?
    • Software upgrades are available to customers at no charge for the first 90 days after purchase. All users should register their software to ensure that they will receive update information via email.
       
  • 7. Where can I get training for the new software and how much does it cost?
    • The OI Business Technical Support and Services group will offer several different formats for ePro Canvas training. Additional information will be communicated when available.
       
  • 8. Are there any special introductory promotions available?
    • No. There are no special introductory promotions available at this time.
       
  • 9. What kind of support is available?
    • Standard support is available by calling your local Eaton Electrical Distributor or the OI Business Technical Support and Services Group at 1-800-809-2772, 5.

  • 10. What are the minimum recommended hardware requirements for ePro Canvas installation?
    • The ePro Canvas software is installed on a PC with the following features:

    • Standard I/O port Ethernet (optional for file transfers)*
    • Drive CD-ROM drive (for SW installation)

    • The following list includes all of the OPC servers/drivers that are available for use with the PanelMate ePro ES and PS. There are many, many more drivers available for the PanelMate ePro PS. Refer to the price pages for a complete list of PanelMate ePro PS OPC drivers. More drivers will be added in the future that support the PanelMate ePro ES.
    • The KEPServer_ePro OPC servers/drivers are provided with the ePro Software Suite software.

  • 12. Can PanelMate Power Pro and/or PanelMate 1000 configurations be imported to the ePro Canvas configuration software?
    • Yes and No. The PM 1000 was configured using a DOS-based editor which had no direct compatibility with the PanelMate Power Series/Power Pro software. For these applications, which are typically less than 8 pages, a software conversion tool is not practical. For .PPS files used in PanelMate Power Series, Power Pro and ePro products, the ePro Canvas Professional software will have a page import feature; however, this option will not be supported on the ePro Canvas version of software. The OI Business Technical Support and Services group offers Upgrade Services for converting configurations as an option as well.

  • 13. Can I use ePro Canvas to edit configurations for the PanelMate Power Pro or PanelMate 1000?
    • No. The ePro Canvas development software is used to build and edit configurations for the PanelMate ePro ES and PS products only and cannot be used to edit configurations for the PanelMate Power Pro or PanelMate 1000 units. The PanelMate Power Pro software package continues to be the sole development environment for Power Pro products. The PanelMate 1000 product is no longer available for sale and can only be configured with the DOS based PanelMate 1000 software development tool.
       
  • 14. Do I have to register my ePro Canvas software?
    • The ePro Canvas development software should be registered so that important product information and notices can be sent to you via email. The ePro Canvas software will continually remind you to register the software until an activation key code is entered. To obtain an activation key code, simply provide the software serial number, registration code and other pertinent information to the OI Business Unit. You can FAX the registration information using the form found on the ePro Canvas CD-ROM or you can register online by selecting Support at www.eatonelectrical.com. In return, you will receive an activation key code via email that is used to designate that the software has been registered and to turn off the reminder.
    • The ePro Canvas runtime software that runs on the PanelMate ePro ES and PS products does not require registration.
       
  • 15. Is there a limit to the number of pages?
    • There is no fixed limit to the number of pages built using the ePro Canvas software. The maximum number of pages will be determined by the amount of memory on the target unit.
       
  • 16. Is there a limit to the number of controller references?
    • There is no fixed limit to the number of controller references included in a configuration. The maximum number of pages will be determined by the amount of memory on the target unit.
